·‘The Emperor's New Clothes' Awarded National Golden Prize

3 Feb. 2006, the textbook play ‘The Emperor's New Clothes' adapted by Clifford Elementary School, on behalf of schools of Guangdong Province, was brought to Beijing for a national English art performance final contest for metropolis youngsters. Staged by 14 Clifford Elementary students in pure English and splendid performing skills, the play stood out and won unanimous compliments from the judges, and was awarded the golden prize.

· Clifford School has 20 model boat amateurs joined in the 2 nd Guangzhou Teem Cup Model Boat Championship and takes the 1 st and 5 th place respectively in two events. In terms of Endurance, 7 out of the 8 winners go to our school, which is also Number 1 for its team performance.

· Clifford School model boat amateurs also joins in the 1 st Guangzhou Huijing Cup Model Boat Championship and (4 students) wins the top prize, (7 students) the 2 nd prize, (5 students) the 3 rd prize, and the 1 st group prize.

·In 1st National Science English Contest, Clifford Elementary School stands out for its five 2nd prizes, five 3rd prizes, and five prizes of excellence.

·English play <The Emperor’s New Clothes> wins 2nd prize in 1st National English Sitcom Contest.

·Clifford Elementary School is selected as “the best English teaching school of China”.

·In the “2005 First-ever China-Japan-Korea Children Art Show”, the English speech silver prize (Guangdong) goes to Tong Yue, a G6 student of Clifford Elementary School.
Liu Yiye (G6D), also from Clifford Elementary School, has snatched the golden prize in music at provincial and national level in the “2005 First-ever China-Japan-Korea Children Art Show”, and at the same time, been crowned national “Star to Spark”.
